Case study

Appalachian Field Service ran on Quickbase for almost 10 years.

They moved to software they own, built by our AI agent teams and checked by our people. Their crews kept working through the move, and their agent team still maintains it.

“Working with Alakazam Labs helped us step back, rethink our processes, and build around what our business actually needed.”
Logan, CEO, Appalachian Field Service

What sets the price

What drives a rebuild price

We don't publish one number for rebuilds because two apps that look alike can be very different underneath. After the free review, these are the things that set your quote:

Number of apps

One app moves faster than several connected ones.

Tables and relationships

More tables, links and calculations mean more to map and check.

Integrations

Each connection to accounting, email, maps or other software has to be rebuilt and tested.

Data volume

More records and file attachments take longer to copy and check.

Users and roles

More kinds of staff, each seeing different things, means more rules to set up.

A typical Quickbase app takes about 3.5 weeks: built and data moved by week 1.5, then two weeks of fine-tuning with your team. Bigger moves with several connected apps take longer. You get the scope, timeline and quote before you commit.

After launch

What you pay after launch

There's no subscription to us. After launch, three things can cost money:

Hosting

On your own server, it's free. On our server, we quote it.

Your AI plan

Your agent team runs on an AI plan your company holds: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok. The AI company bills you directly. We add no markup.

Ongoing care, if you want it

Our people check on your agent team and are there when you need them. It's a paid service, scaled to the size of your team, and we quote it on the call. You don't have to buy it.

Your own agent team stays with your software and makes everyday changes when your staff ask. New features or new apps are quoted as their own project.

Never on your bill

What you never pay

  • No per-user feesHire ten more people and your bill from us doesn’t change.
  • No exit feesYou own the code and the data. Take them to any developer, any time.
  • No markup on AIYou pay the AI company directly.
Honest about fit

When we're not the right fit

  • Your current software bill is small and steady, and the app does what you need.
  • An off-the-shelf app already does almost everything you want. Buy it.
  • You only need an AI to answer questions now and then. A Claude or ChatGPT plan on its own will do.

Questions

Questions about pricing

Why don't you show a price for rebuilds?

Because it depends on what you have: the number of apps, tables, integrations, records and users. A number before we've looked would be a guess. The review is free, and you get a quote before you commit.

What does "ROI usually happens around 6 to 8 months" mean?

It's how long a rebuild usually takes to earn back what it cost. Yours depends on your current bill and the size of the build, and we walk through your numbers with you in the free review.

What's the difference between the $1,500 and $3,000 options?

From $1,500, we install K2 and get your agent team built and running. It doesn't include building your software; you and your agents build from there. From $3,000, we set up a full agent team for you, shaped around your business. That price depends on team size.

Do I have to pay for ongoing care?

No. It's optional. Your agent team keeps making changes when your staff ask. Ongoing care adds our people checking on the team and helping when you need it.

Which AI plan do I need, and who pays for it?

You pick: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok. Your company holds the plan, and the AI company bills you directly, with no markup from us. You can switch later.

What happens if we stop working with you?

You own the code and the data, and K2 is free to download and run, so on your own server your software keeps running. If it's on our server, we help you move it. There's no exit fee.
